Learning to code means learning to think
Putting instructions in order, predicting results and finding mistakes are ways to practise solving problems. A big task becomes a sequence of smaller steps. These skills matter beyond computing, whether or not a child later chooses a technical career.
Our foundation promotes coding education for children and young people. We value curiosity, experimentation and an atmosphere where a mistake offers a clue for the next attempt.
From simple instructions to an original game
A starting point might be an activity without a computer: arranging a sequence, describing a route or inventing game rules. Visual coding can then make instructions tangible. A clear project goal matters more than the particular tool.
Creating a game brings together storytelling, rules and testing. One character and one challenge are enough for a first version. Extra features can wait until the basic game works.
The role of parents and teachers
Adults do not need every answer. Ask a child to explain the idea, help identify the problem and encourage changing one thing at a time. Make room for the child’s own decisions.
Short, regular experiments and appreciation of effort can support learning at home. The pace and challenge should suit the individual learner.

If you represent a school, organisation or parent group, tell us the children’s ages, interests, previous experience and access to equipment. This gives us a useful starting point for a conversation.
